NURSING ASSISTANT TRAINING PROGRAM      
This is a 160 hour course which trains students to provide safe, efficient, quality care to residents in Nursing Homes. The students who successfully complete the Program will qualify to take the State Competency Exam to be a Certified Nurse Assistant (C.N.A)
THE PROGRAM COURSE HAS TWO COMPONENTS:

  • 60 Hours of Theory and skills lab conducted in a classroom
  • 100 Hours of Clinical training under the supervision of Licensed Nurses approved by the Department of Health Services, in an accredited and state approved Long term care facility.
  • The student attain their training through courses which follow the State approved School Curriculum, and the Lectures are taught by accredited Licensed Nurses.
  • The instructors deliver the course content through lectures, demonstrations, role play in the Classroom and Skills Lab. The students are then exposed to hands on training of nursing procedures while in a Clinical Setting.
  • Students learn how to take Vital Signs, Activities of daily Living, Proper Body Mechanics, Bathing and Skin Checks, Bed Making , Resident positioning in Bed, and wheel/Chair, proper Transfers, Feeding, Basic Hygiene and Standard precautions.
  • The student's knowledge is evaluated on an ongoing basis through quizzes, competency tests, and skills tests.
